Chapter Ride with Rick and friends.

Made plans early this week to do a ride with a friend from the North side . Last night it seamed to become more of a chapter ride to Galveston Island ,

The leader for toady's ride was not available and I offered my help .

nothing is in order as far as real time , I took about 75 shots during this day trip.

A view to the east from 61street and the seawall on the island , this is the middle of the island or close anyway

This one arriving at Out Riggers for some grocery's and a cold one!

Was a busy day in Clear Creek Channel , This connects Clear Lake to Galveston Bay , shot taken from the lower section at Outriggers Bar and Grill .

This place known for us "locals" was just about as good as it gets , These guys were great on the porch singing and playing for the lunch crowd , On a nice and breezy day watching the boats go by ,drinking some cold one's

Yea man that a plate of fresh Gulf shrimp , fried with new potatoes and onion rings.

22q our 2nd stop was at the far east end of the island , in the background is the Galveston Ship Channel and the South jetties.

A group shot for all to remember this day , because us old farts know how to enjoy ourselves !

Of course I had to stop the group , to walk across the street for some shots of the Gulf and
the seawall . Mike looks so happy !!!

Standing on the seawall , Looking back to the North , I give you the beach in Galveston Texas. this has free public access for miles up and down the seawall .

Standing in the same spot I turn and snap one to the South .

My self and three friends arrive @ Outriggers . at about 12:30 this afternoon ,They started out from the North side this morning @ 7:30 ,Some of the other riders broke away and went on down further South along the Coastal Highway to Freeport .

Another look at the South Jetties .

Everybody is full now and its time to split , only I have only 1.4 miles to go home and they gotta ride across town , I should be napping way before they get home .
Another group were gathering while I fueled this morning , Seabrook and surrounding towns are popular for day trips out from the greater Houston area . about 40 miles to the North .

Soon after I met up with the group under the bridge near Outriggers .

And the ride begins .
Today was a blast , meeting some new folks and riding the ribbons of highways along the way to the blue water on the island . as good as it sounds !!!
and that's the way it is .
cheers !
